TI wireless charger solution

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ51050B, BQ51003

Dear team,

I just got 2 new opportunities, could you help to propose appropriate solutions?

Thank you.

There are two projects need wireless charging function, here are the brief specification for your reference.

Product #1:

A wearable track product with 300mAh rechargeable battery. The size is similar to smart watch.

It need wireless charging receiver function to get the power from the charger for charging that 300mAh battery.

It should be Qi-certificated/compatible, don’t need big power wattage.

Product size is under 40mm x 40mm, therefore the coil size should be smaller.

Product #2:

IoT product with wireless charging transmitter function, like a wireless charger pad to support 10W charging capability for smart phone charging.

        It should be Qi-certificated/compatible.

The product size is around 110mm x 200mm, the coil size/pattern should match the most of smartphone on the market.

Thank you.

Kane

  • Hi Kane,

    For product 1:

    1. What is charging current? BQ51003 is good wireless RX option for less than 500mA charging, it will require a separate battery charger to go with it. Would they prefer standalone or I2C enabled battery charger? BQ51050b is another option, it combines wireless RX with battery charger, but we do not recommend for charging currents under 100mA or termination current under 30mA.
    2. All our wireless power receivers are QI compliant
    3. Coils under 30x30 mm can be found that work well with our receivers like WR222230-26M8-G

Regarding product 2, all wireless power transmitters are NRND, no plans to introduce more.

    Best,
