HI,
Could you describe, at a high-level, what is needed to operate the AFE7444 at 5.6 GHz( data sheet references up tp 6 GHz)? Does this utilize the 2nd Nyquist or is there another method?
Thank you!

Hi Steven,
Yes. For DAC output at 5.6GHz, second Nyquist is used. DAC should be operated at 9GSPS. First Nyquist image will be at at 9-5.6 = 3.4GHz. Output circuit (RF balun, amplifier or filter) can be chosen such that 3.4GHz output is attenuated.

Thank you Vijay. On the receive side would we just let the 5.6 GHz alias around the 3 GSPS? Also, when we choose deceimation, I assume that a corresponding low-pass filter is incorporated (polyphase).
Thank you again for your help.
Steven,
Yes. You are correct. For 3GSPS Rx, 5.6GHz input would alias to 2.6GHz second Nyquist (and 0.4GHz first Nyquist).
Right low-pass filter selected based on Decimation factor chosen.

Vijay
