AFE7444: Getting receive path power detector and DSA values out of AFE7444

Hello,

On the AFE7444 receive paths I need to know what the received signal strength is (RSSI) prior to the Digital Step Attenuator. Can I get out the power measured by the Digital Power Detectors or the settings of the receive Digital Step Attenuators or both? If so, are these values available on the GPIO or the SPI?

Hi Steve,

Digital power detector measures power after DSA. So to get power actual power received before DSA, current DSA value should be added to that. DSA value is programmed by user. Digital power detector output can be configured to output on GPIO. Please go through section "3.1.8.3 Programming: Power Detector" in "AFE74xx_Programmers_Guide_slau793a.pdf" for details on this. (This document is available on AFE7444 secure folder: ti.com/mysecuresoftware)
