AWR1843: Wide angle antenna pattern

Hi,

We have a case where we are using the AWR1843 device (7 antenna device) using the TI reference antenna design. We would like to change the radiation pattern to wide angle as was done with the 6 antenna design shown on the AWR1642BOOST-ODS evaluation board. Is there a wide angle reference antenna design for the AWR1843?

Hi,

For AWR1843 there is no reference design available for wide angle reference antenna.

Our customer could consider using the newly released AWR1843AOP which has an integrated antenna.

Alternatively, there are wide angle antenna reference designs for our 60GHz sensors:

Hi Cesar,

Thank you for the guidance here. When implementing the antenna from the IWR6843 reference design on to the AWR1843 design, what needs to be updated on the embedded system software side? Would it be enough to update the "geometry.c" file or are more updates needed?

Yes, for the mmwave demo, only the geometry.c would need to be updated
