I/Q DEMODULATOR

Guru 13485 points

looking for a I/Q demodulator or Downconverter in the KU frequencies : 10.7-12.75 GHz

  • Hi Eli,

The closest part that I see available today is the following part:
    www.ti.com/.../LMX8410L

others parts starting with the TRF label are demodulators but they are only 6GHz input maximum. No other demodulators available today can go up to the KU frequency that you listed.

  • We’re looking into updating our IF to BB path.

After a short internet search I found this component:

    https://datasheets.maximintegrated.com/en/ds/MAX2112.pdf

It’s hard to believe that Maxim offers such a product and TI does not.

Are you sure that you don’t have something similar?

  • Eli:

I am a bit confused unless this is two unrelated questions. The initial request was for a KU band demodulator. The Maxim part is sub-2GHz SatCom receiver. TI does not have a similar SatCom receiver like the Maxim part. That device is intended for narrow band, low current applications (i.e. lower performance) applications. If you truly need something similar, there may be an offering in the Low Power RF portfolio that services that frequency range with low bandwidth and low power consumption. For wider BW applications, we currently do not offer devices directly servicing the KU band; however, we do have high performance transceivers capable of supporting 200 to 800 MHz of BW and higher operating as high as 10 GHz. You may contact me off-forum if you want to discuss particular needs for your application.
