DAC38RF82: Glitch Impulse Spec

Part Number: DAC38RF82

Is there a relevant glitch impulse spec for the DAC38RF8x devices?

Asking on behalf of a customer.

Thanks!

-Steve

  • Hey Steve,

We do not have any data recorded on the glitch impulse for this family of devices. Depending on the the particular condition that the customer wants to measure we could possibly capture it if needed.

Is there a specific condition that the customer is wanting measured?

    Thanks,

    David

  • David-

They are interested in the voltage glitch when you roll over the MSB (right at mid-scale). The transition from 0x7FFF to 0x8000 when running with a 2.4GHz clock.

I believe this is operating mode 2TX LMFSHd = 82121.

  • Steve,

I am working on getting data that you will be able to share with the customer.

  • Steve,

I was able to test and measure the voltage glitch of the DAC38RF82. Using the TSW14J56 and HSDC Pro, a test pattern file that repeatedly converted from 0x7FFF to 0x8000 was used as the input to the DAC, along with a 2.4GHz clock as you had mentioned. The mid-scale 1LSB transition and a trigger provided by the TSW14J56 were measured on an oscilloscope together. What we are seeing is that the mid-scale glitch amplitude is below our measurement resolution of ~0.5mV.
