DAC38RF83: DAC38RF83

Part Number: DAC38RF83
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM27761,

Hi
In my board DAC38RF83 current consumption at VEE18N power rail is 340 mA. Which is to high, relative to datasheet. Power supply schematic is the same as in EVB. I measured it trough small value serial resistor at the output of LM27761. The DAC outputs are terminated to +1.8V trough 56nH and connected to TCN2-14+ balun (AC coupled). The current at EVB is 150 mA, both DACs not configured.
What could be the cause of such a high current?

  • Hi,

The DAC38RF83 has internal ESD diodes that may leak out positive voltage from the 1.0V and 1.8V if the voltage at VEE is not present. The voltage is roughly 0.3V. This may cause the power supplies powering the VEE rail to enter pre-biased power up condition, and some power supplies may not be able to support this. Please check if you power supply support pre-bias power up.
