DAC38RF82: bandwidth

Part Number: DAC38RF82
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC38RF89

It say in the datasheet:

the DAC38RF82 or DAC38RF89 is capable of synthesizing wideband signals up to 2 GHz bandwidth with 16-bit input resolution and 2.66 GHz bandwidth with 12-bit input resolution.

Were these signal bandwidth (2G and 2.66G)? Were they associated with input data rate? Where these number came from. Thanks.

  • new2day,

The data sheet signal bandwidth numbers are from the max input data rate and the filtering used by the device. The pass-band of the digital interpolation FIR filters are about 80% of the complex input rate. 80% of 3.33G is 2.66G, and 80% of 2.5G is 2G.
