Does TI offer any solutions for the Thickness measurement of plastic pipe?

Thickness range 1mm- 25mm.

  • Hello,

    You want to try and use the high accuracy demo to see how it fair for the material you are considering.  Typically such measurements require strong reflection form the surface of interest to get a clean detection peak w.r.t to reflections from the background. 

    Additionally you have to interpret the thickness based on distance  between the mmWave sensor and reflection from the surface of interest for which the thickness is to be determined.  We do not have a demo example that provides thickness measurement between two end of the surface.   Please check the high accuracy demo on the Tirex for industrial tool box.

    Another question on BW, 

    According to one of my colleagues, with the 4GHz BW, we can typically measure up-to 7mm thickness,

    all of the mmWave sensors are with 4GHz BW,  is there a way where we can increase the BW  to get more accuracy?

    One can achieve accuracy better than millimeter using mmWave Sensors and the High Accuracy Lab is a very good starting point to achieve this.
