It explained the context very well. Besides, my application needs frequency upper limit to 3GHz.

5 years passed. Any progress on this aspect?

If no, could you provide more clues on the follow ups?

TI has not invested in this area, even after 5 years. The discrete path seems like a viable option. TI does have a host of PLL/VCO devices that could be used potentially in a discrete approach. You can find the portfolio of these devices on the TI web and many support 3 GHz and beyond.
