TRF372017EVM: SPI read data is always zero at the TRF3720 gui

Part Number: TRF372017EVM

Hi Support Team:

I used the TRF3720 GUI to program the TRF372017EVM, but I always read back zero from any of the programmed register.

I scoped the RDBK pin during at the read phase of the spi cycle, it is always zero.

Is the spi read back working at all?

Thomas

  • Hey Thomas,

I am going to run a few experiments tomorrow and get back to you as soon as possible.

  • Hey Thomas,

So the GUI is programmed to enable readback automatically anytime you press read all registers or anytime you change a register value depending on the register read setting you've chosen. I was able to replicate the RDBK error you are experiencing when powering the board with a single 5V supply and keeping the JP6 jumper in tact.

How are you powering the board? If using a single 5V supply make sure to remove JP6. If you're not using a single voltage supply, make sure you are providing 3.3V to TP2 & 5V to TP5 and that JP6 is in tact.

Also make sure you are following the user guide when referencing how to operate the GUI & EVM.
