LDC1101EVM: LDC1101 / LHR_DRDY bit

Part Number: LDC1101EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LDC1101

Hi,

Please let me ask about LHR_DRDY bit in LHR_STATUS register. Now I'm evaluating LDC1101EVM with default coil. In LHR mode operation, the LHR_DRDY bit is always yellow (I think yellow means bit=1) at running. LHR_DRDY = 1 means "Unread conversion data is available" so I'm not sure why this bit respond 1 continuously at running.

  • Hello Satoshi-san,

Can you tell me what the RCOUNT setting for the LDC1101 is? The LDC1101EVM GUI is limited for the maximum rate at which it can sample the output data. If the RCOUNT (which sets the sample rate) is low enough, the LDC1101 can complete a sample quicker than the polling rate of the EVM firmware.

  • Hi Chris,

RCOUNT setting was 1136 at the screen shot. Now I changed to RCOUNT to 65535 (FFFF) but LHR_DRDY indicator still show yellow...

  • Hi Satoshi-san,

OK, I looked into this. Basically, the GUI reads the LHR Status register first, and then updates the streaming when new data is available. When the GUI updates the streaming, it also sets the Status indicator. It seems that the GUI does not change the LHR DRDY when it doesn't read the output data, so it is a bug in the GUI.
