AWR1243: ADC Number of Bits

Hi,

I have a question about how the bits are organized when we select 14 or 16 bit as the output data format.

Are the extra 2 or 4 zeros added before the MSB or placed after the LSB ?

Hello RJ,
From the 16bits of the data the LSBs are dropped to get the 14/12 bit mode.

I was under the impression that the sigma delta + decimation filters were changing the bit width when the user selects 12/14/16 bit data format.

It makes sense now that the adc chain (post noise shaping + decimation) is always sending 16 bit data, and the data format block drops the bits.

If my understanding is flawed please correct me.
