AWR1642BOOST: Can 60pin HD connector used as JTAG header for XDS560?

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642,

Hi champion,
My customer is designing their AWR1642 board, and they noticed the 60 pin HD connector on Boost pack also contains JTAG signals. Does is mean the 60 pon HD connector can be used to connect to XDS560 emulator with adaptor between? If yes, the customer don't want to add another 14/20 pin JTAG header on the board.

Thanks,
Adam

  • Hello Adam,
The 60pin connector pin definition used on the AWR1642BOOST is not directly compatible with the XDS560 since we needed lot more signals like LVDS, DP etc. But on their board , depending on the signals they need, they could follow the XDS560 adapter pin definition and use it for emulation.

  • Hello Adam,
For reference you can see the Dev pack board for the XDS560 emulator connector pin definition (J3 of the Dev pack). If they follow that instead of the AWR1642BOOST 60 pin connector then they can connect the emulator directly.
