AWR1243: CSI-2 in Radar Studio + AWR1243EVM + MMWAVEDEVPACK

Part Number: AWR1243

Hello,

I see that in Radar studio there are options to either use LVDS or CSI-2 for configuration. When LVDS is selected, the CSI-2 settings are grayed out, and vice versa.

I am not logging data with TSW1400 which I understand works with LVDS only. When CSI-2 is selected in Radar Studio and set with default settings, does any data transfer actually take place and if the CSI interface is working on the EVM + devpack board ?

Regards,

RJ

  • Hello RJ,

Yes the AWR1243 is able to sent out the data over CSI2 when the "Data Path Configuration " is set to CSI2.

The data is enabled over the AWR1243BOOST + MMWAVE-DEVPACK.

    Thanks,

    Raghu

  • Hi Raghu,

Thank you so much for your response.

When CSI-2 is selected in Radar Studio, the lane mapping, clock mapping and pin order settings are set as default. Do i need to change any of these settings to make the interface actually transfer data ?

Lastly is there a way I can verify that the CSI-2 interface is actually sending data since TSW1400 board only works with LVDS data and not CSI-2 data?

Thank you and I appreciate your help.

  • Hello RJ,

You can work with the default setting in the RadarStudio for the CSI2 configuration. There is no setup like TSW1400EVM to verify the CSI2 data when configured using RadarStudio.

But TI Design Network partners  D3 Engineering have solution which connects the AWR1243 and the TDA3x and the data path can be configured over CSI2. There is a separate RadarSDK that needs to be used to work with this setup. RadarSDK is shared under some special NDA.

    Thanks,

    Raghu
