IWR1642BOOST: False Distance Target

In both of these pictures, the 8m target is a 1st harmonic of the 4m target, it is completely a false target. And the false harmonic target also generates false radial targets on its sides. Why is that?

    Such harmonics may sometimes show up for very strong targets (e.g. a large corner reflector).

    1. What is the target object in this test? If it's a corner reflector, what is the RCS?
    2. Is this test being done in an an echoic chamber and is the target suspended in air or kept on the ground?

    Using just the point cloud data, it may not be possible to determine whether this false target is a real object or not. However, a high level tracking algorithm can be used to determine if the false detection is indeed a harmonic from the actual object.
