In my code I am doing an edma transfer between a section of memory in L3 to L3. What will be the typical edma invoking time (or submit transfer)?? And also what will be the typical transfer time taken say for 1KB of data from L3 to L3.

Hello Narendra,

From receiving a trigger, TPCC usually takes 40 clocks @ 200 MHz to submit the transfer to the TPTC.

The L3 can be read/written to 128 bits per cycle @ 200 MHz. You can assume an overhead of ~20 % for turnaround time for interleaved reads and writes.

Hi Raghu,

Thanks for the information. So at 40 clocks cycles, its around 200nano seconds, but we are observing around 100 clock cycles. What could be the possible reasons for this 2.5X increase in cycles??

Can you confirm the below points:
- What is the clock you are using ?
- How are you computing the 100 clocks ? Is it SW triggered counter or RTI block ?
- What is the event the considered as Submit transfer ?

Hi Raghu ,

We are using the "EDMAutil_triggerType3()" function to do my edma transfer(This function is specified in the SDK).
We are running at 600Mhz and getting around 270 clocks to trigger this function. I have used "Cycleprofiler_getTimeStamp()" function to measure the clock cycles elapsed. And finally, I am not aware of the event which confirms the submit transfer.

Please don't consider the 100 cycle information that I have specified in the previous post. The actual clock cycles is 270 not 100.

Per my understanding , you should be @200MHz clock.

Are you using the MMWAVE-SDK examples code for your development ?
