IWR1443BOOST: Issue running mmwave driver for ROS Kinetic

Part Number: IWR1443BOOST

Hi everyone.

I just started working with IWR1443Boost and I wanted to use it with ROS. I tried to follow the instruction in the pdf but i still failed to get it working.
I have copied the serial and ti_mmwave_rospkg to my catkin workspace and then executed the following command:

$ roslaunch ti_mmwave_rospkg rviz_1443_3d.launch

However, I received an error message saying 'clutterRemoval' is not recognized as a CLI command.
Does anybody have an idea about this problem?

Any help is appreaciated.

  • Hi Leonardo,

    Which version of the ROS driver lab are you running? Each version of the mmWave ROS driver is compatible with a specific version of mmWave SDK out-of-box demo and your EVM needs to be flashed with the corresponding demo binaries. This information is provided in the release notes for the mmWave ROS driver lab.

    From this error message, it appears that the version of the ROS driver you're running may not be compatible with the SDK out-of-box demo flashed on the EVM.

    Also, as mentioned in the following thread, after flashing the SDK Demo, make sure that you can run the SDK Out of Box Demo with the mmWaveDemoVisualizer and that you are able to get the point cloud output before trying the ROS Point Cloud Visualizer Lab.

    Please check the items listed above and mark this thread answered if this resolves your issue.
