AFE4490SPO2EVM: No information regarding SPO2 sensor provided with the EVM

Part Number: AFE4490SPO2EVM

Hi all.

I read user guide manual for AFE4490SPO2EVM and also searched other document related to this EVM, but couldn't get any information regarding the spo2 sensor provided with the EVM.

I am also extracting data on uart communication without GUI application but not able to comprehend the raw data into some meaning full data.

Please provide any help regarding above-mentioned issue as I am stuck and need some resource to move ahead .

Thanks,

Nimish Jain

  • Hi Nimish,

After a quick study of the AFE44x0SPO2EVM, I've made following observations that might clear some of your concerns.

As mentioned under the Features section of the AFE4490SPO2EVM page, AFE44x0SPO2EVM provides support to connect any DB9 pulse oximeter sensor cable.

In section 5.4 Analog Inputs, of the Development Guide, its clearly indicated that ProSim Fluke SPOT Light SpO2 Functional tester was used for all the measurements in this user guide.

You may connect any pulse oximeter sensor through the provided DB9 interface, just keep in mind the DB9 connector pinout, which also given under the section 8.1 DB9 Pulse Oximeter Connector, of the guide.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Ali,
Thanks for your response. But I am asking about the sensor provided with the EVM kit i.e SPO2 sensor. There is no information available regarding this. Like I am not able to get what maximum current for LED's we can set for this sensor.
  • Hi Nimish,

I think Biometric Cables are the correct person to answer all your questions regarding the sensor cable as they are manufacturer of it.
