Hi. I just wanted to ask that I thought tmp100 that I purchased was an IC like that picture shown. But when i recently opened up the package, it was just a very small chip. Can I ask why it is a small chip not an IC? Is it supposed to be like that? If it is, how do I connects it to a transceiver since it is just a very small chip?

Hi Shao,

Sorry for all the trouble you have gone through. We normally specify the package dimension at the end of the TMP100 datasheet. The picture that you mentioned on ti.com is normally they zoom in. The only way you can evaluate this by ordering the SOT23 6 pins conversion board. Please let me know if you are interested. I can find one in digikey.com.

Oh thank you aaron. I'm interested in getting one. Is it the same as the DIP Evaluation Module in TI website? Approximate how long will be take to reach me as I need it on friday?

Hi Shao,

I just want to clarify that we do not carry any EVM for TMP100. If you want to interface MCU with TMP100, you must use the adaptor as showed below.

The DIP adapter evaluation module states that it can be used for sot23 so i bought that instead. So it cant be used for tmp100? If thats the case, how do I get this EVM since they are not available in TI? Purchase it at digikey?

Hi Shao,

Yes, you can solder down TMP100 to SOT23 6 pins of DIP adapter conversion board. Can you tell me what type of application you are using for temperature measurement? Why you need to measure the temperature?

Unfortunately, we do not carry any EVM for TMP100. As a courtesy, I can send you the conversion board. Please let me know if you are interested. I'll try to check if I can send one for you.

I am doing a project which requires me to interface tmp100 with the transceiver cc1310, so in order for me to connect them i would need the EVM for tmp100 since it is too small to mount on a breadboard.

Yes I am interested since it is needed for me to do the connection physically. Thank you. Would it be better that we communicate through email instead?
