Is HDC2080 machine washable with water once assembled to the board after a surface mount operation?

Hi Gregory,

We do not recommend washing the HDC2080 with water as it can damage the sensor polymer and give abnormal humidity readings.

If you do need to wash the boards, I would recommend looking at the HDC2022 as it has a hydrophobic coating that protects the sensor against water and dust according to IP67 specifications.

To add to Pavani's suggestion about the HDC2022, the HDC2021 is also a candidate here, it was made for the board wash/conformal coating scenario directly and has removable polyimide tape cover.
