TMP117EVM: TMP117EVM

Part Number: TMP117EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP117, SYSCONFIG

Hello,

I have a TMP117EVM, downloaded the GUI and installed it on my computer and is successfully logging the temperature.  My intended application however is to log the temperature on my setup using TMP117 so my thought is to break out the TMP117 part of the PCB and mount it in my setup and use I2C interface to read the temperature from TMP117.  My setup has a microcontroller with an I2C and i'm thinking of using that to read the 16-bit temperature register instead while my setup is running, this way I can monitor the setup temperature locally with my application code and not rely on the GUI and manually noting down my setup temperature.

Please advise if this idea is feasible, and if so are there initialization routines for the TMP117 that will have to be taken care of before reading the temperature register?

Thanks!

Joseph
