Hi team,

A case study of this product www.ti.com/.../TIDEP-0090 , help customers to ask a few questions:

1. Can the millimeter wave radar obtain background information data, such as buildings, trees, sky, etc.

2. Can the millimeter wave radar obtain the data information of the moving vehicle in the small state in the visible light video image? We want to obtain the small target for small target detection and tracking. The target size accounts for about 0.12% - 2% of a frame image. I can see that in the two images on the left, it seems that there is no radar data display for the distant vehicles in the visible light video, but the radar target data display results only when they are relatively close. If we can detect the radar data that the remote vehicle presents a small target, is the radar data only a pixel?

3. If this product can't meet the application scenarios described above, please recommend the related products that can meet our application requirements.

Hello

When it comes to capabilities of the product the user would have to take radar equation into account and see for themselves if the sensor allows the detection based on distance and other required sensing parameters.

For the questions you have we have demo that show fair amount of detection for each of these.

Please note the demo are specific to different applications and highlight the distance and kind of detection. We encourage the users to try out out for scenarios of interest to see what the mmwave data looks like.

Please try IWR6843ISK evm for:

OOB demo - general detection

Traffic monitoring - for vehicle and close pedestrians

People counting (Long range) - for people and motion at 50+m
