IWR6843ISK: Failed to connect physically to DCA1000EVM

Hi team,

I bought IWR6843ISK module and DCA1000EVM, and tried to connect each other using J6 on IWR and J3 on DCA.
However, J1 connector on IWR interfere with some IC on DCA board. (maybe it's U14, SPI Flash chip)

Of course, I tried to use ribbon cable which is included DCA kit, but the cable head hit to J1 connector too.

How can I fit them completely?

Hi Vaibhav,

Sorry for wrong ops about resolve mark.

I tried just to fit each other directly, it hit physically.
I mean, the connectors looks little bit floating, and the board fit diagonally each other.
Please let me know, if it is as designed and there is no problem to use in this state.

Hello Junpei,

Since you're using DCA1000, I assume you want to capture the raw ADC data.

You can refer to the following user guide for connection details : 60GHz mmWave Sensor EVMs - User guide

Hi Ishita,

I want to use IWR6843ISK in DCA1000EVM mode, described at page 44 in 60GHz mmWave Sensor EVMs - User guide.
I'm facing a trouble about just physical connection, not about communication or evaluation.

J1 connector on IWR6843ISK hit to FPGA config DIP switch and SPI Flash on DCA1000.

The IWR6843ISK revision is 'D'.
How to avoid hit each other?

Hi all,

For the reference, I attached a picture of the boards.

As you can see, IWR connector hit the IC and DIP switch on DCA1000EVM, and IWR board tilt slightly from DCA1000EVM.

Hello Junpei,

Do you see issue in connecting to DCA1000 EVM?

Our internal test shows even with this issue, you should be able to connect to DCA1000 board for RAW ADC captures as shown in the below picture in the User guide. Currently there is no solution other than using external SAMTEC cable. If the cables doesn't fit correctly you may have to trim the cable headers.
