IWR6843AOPEVM: 3D People Counting Demo

Part Number: IWR6843AOPEVM

Click here to play this video

Hi, Everyone.

I run a 3D People Counting demo using IWR6843AOPEVB.

As shown in the attached video, if the number of frames increases by more than 1000, the maximum detection point does not exceed 12.

Does anyone know why?

  • Hi,

Can you please share the video again? Can not play the video through windows media player.

Does 12 here refer to the max distance? or number of people? Please elaborate.

    Regards,

    Sudharshan K N

  • Hi, Sudharshan.

To play on media player, I upload the converted video again and capture figure.

"12" is the number of detected (or calculated) point cloud.

When number of frames is under 1000, the number of detectable point cloud is from 0 to large count.

but when over 1000, the number of point cloud is limited to maximum 12.

    Thanks.

    Best regards.

  • Hi,

Are you using the installed visualizer for this experiment? if yes then this could be an anomaly in the visualizer. The visualizer saves the data every 1000 frames to a file. May be the problem is occurring after the save. We will look into this and fix the visualizer.

In the meantime can you please run the visualizer form the toolbox C:\ti\mmwave_industrial_toolbox_4_7_0\labs\people_counting\visualizer and check if the problem still exists?

  • Hi, Sudharshan.

As you said, I installed the visualizer in Toolbox 3.7 and tested it.

But the same result came out. I hope this error will be fixed ASAP.

    Have a nice day.

    Best regards,

  • Hi,

Sure will raise a ticket internally to get this fixed.
