LDC2114: About the latest version LDC_Tools-ext50

Part Number: LDC2114

Hello

From this version, the protection of each sheet cannot be released.
A password is required to remove the protection. Will this password not be disclosed?
It became very inconvenient.

Best regards

  • Hello,

    Thank you for posting.

I apologize for the inconvenience, however the unprotected sheets are not available publicly.

    Best regards,

    Nicole

  • Hi Ms. Nicole

Thank you for your quick reply.

    Was that so?

This change is disappointing, as it was possible to unprotect at least up to LDC_Tools-ext49.

There is no way this time.

    What is the reason?

I hope it will be the same as before.

    Best regards

  • Hi,

As far as I am aware, it was the intention that previous versions of this tool were password locked as well. The unlocked sheets are meant for internal use only.

    Best regards,
    Nicole

  • Hi Ms. Nicole

The biggest problem is that since Latest version (LDC_Tools-ext50) is protected, the each sheet in the file cannot be copied. In the earlier version (LDC_Tools-ext49), I was able to create a VBA file that copies the specified sheet (Spiral Inductor Designer), incorporates macros, and creates graphs such as L-d characteristics.
I'm sure many users are using LDC_Tools with some arrangements.
It is possible to attach an older version (LDC_Tools-ext49.xlsx) to this text for your confirmation, but TI may not want to publish it anymore, so I will not attach it this time.
Can you discuss the need for file protection once again in consultation with other personnel?
It's not good to be unable to do what was previously possible.

Should I send the old version if necessary for your confirmation? I have some older versions, but all of them could be unprotected.

    Best regards,

  • Hi,

I have reached out to you via private message in order to discuss this further, and I will close this thread now.

    Best regards,

  • Hi, Ms. Nicole

    Thank you for your reply.

Lastly, let me write only this.

At least, users who have used this tool (LDC_Tools-extXXX) in the past know that it has not been password protected. I've been using this tool for 3 years and they weren’t password protected except for the latest version LDC_Tools-ext50. The versions I have used over the last 3 years are LDC_Tools-ext30, LDC_Tools-ext48 and LDC_Tools-ext49.

    Best regards,

  • Hello,
