TMP390: Used for 2 cold trip application

Hi Team,

My customer study the TMP390 datasheet and found below chart. He thought the trip error is covered over the detection temp. range, so he would like set Hot Trip temperature below 30C. For example, set cold trip temp. to -20C and hot trip temp. to 0C. Is it workable for this part?

    Hi Vincent,

    The TMP390 does not allow for two cold trip points. You cannot set both trip thresholds below 30ºC.

    If you are looking for a temperature switch that provides the flexibility to set two trip thresholds of -20ºC and 0ºC I recommend the LM56. It is also a resistor programmable temperature switch with similar functionality to the TMP390.
