AWR2243BOOST: AWR2243Boost Radar API code or commend protocol

Dear Expert 

Good day!

Our customer want to configure the AWR2243Boost with their own API ,

1.they want to use this API to configure the AWR2243Boost , like the RADAR API ,

2.they want to download the firmware and get the device configuration through the commend via this API.

but they do not know the commend or protocol which we used for the AWR2243Boost .

So could you provide the source code of the RADAR API or provide some details of the controller communication protocol to the customer ?

    For a start, you can ask the customer to refer to the mmWave-Radar-Interface-Control.pdf i.e. mmWave ICD which specifies the Interface Control Specification for communications on the serial interface (SPI) between the Radar device and the external host processor. 

    I will also forward this query to our expert in case he wants to add his comments.

    The customer said "I wanted to know the interface protocol document of mmwave studio03.00.00.14 and the content of this document is probably that the relevant parameters and collected data of AWR2243 and DCA1000 can be configured by sending instructions, I don’t need the interface protocol documentation for mmwave radar, nor do I need mmwave_DFP ,Can you help me find the interface protocol document of mmwave studio 03.00.00.14?"

    I don't get customer requirement here.

    Do they have an external processor which is connected to AWR2243 over SPI? And Host Processor needs to communicate to AWR device now.

    For this DFP provides few examples which exemplify implementation of mmwavelink to communicate over SPI and configure AWR device.

    Please provide more detail of their request or requirement.

  • Hi, my customer said" The picture above is the interface of mmwave Studio. I want the original hexadecimal command corresponding to set(1) in the first black box. I want to use this series of command sets to design a simple user interface by myself. I just want documents such as mmwave studio that can send commands to control AWR2243Boost and DCA1000evm"
  • It is not straight forward to communicate to device, as in background this tool generate byte sequence and communicate over FTDI chip for SPI communication.

    When you run this GUI, you get all the commands in output window of the same GUI which customer can use in form of LUA script and run from same GUI in form of automation.

    There is another tool available on TI-Rex which can be used to configure the AWR2243 device over SPI in SOP-4 mode.
