TMCS1107: Surge, over-current behaviour

Hello,

For future projects customer is interested in using hall current sensors but they need to understand how to deal with surges and other events causing severe over-currents, beyond the rating of these small packages. Do you have any app notes or reports?

Hello Holger,

We do not have any app notes or reports that I know of for that use case. If you are wanting to protect our device from severe overcurrent events, then you may want to look into some sort of bypass circuit, possibly using Shockley diode or other overcurrent protection circuitry.
