HDC2021: relation between 2.7 V and HDC2021 sensor

Part Number: HDC2021
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HDC2022

"is the operating voltage greater than 2.7V? If so, could we please get access to the default registers? To do this, power cycle the part and read all the registers."

Dear Team,

For HDC2021, the above comment was made in the linked post. may I know the background for 2.7 V? Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Puneeth,

We had a minor issue on some of the customer samples that we handed out during pre-release (Late 2019 - Early 2020). However, that issue has been fixed since then and the device can be used across the full voltage range.

  • Dear Team

thank you for your reply. How can we identify the batch in which the issue is fixed. We would like to identify them before we mount them on the PCB.

How about HC2022? can you please lt us know in detail. Is there any marking on the IC? This is very important to us.

    Thank you

    Puneeth

  • Hi Puneeth,

The HDC2021 material was checked by the test, validation and applications engineers on multiple units and we were able to verify that this issue has been resolved. We verified this over multiple voltage levels as well as different temperature and humidity set points. You should not have any issues with the current HDC2021 or the HDC2022 material that is in stock on ti.com.

The HDC2022 does have some markings on the device (location of Pin 1, etc), but the markings are covered with a factory installed PTFE filter.
