AWR6843AOP: Bypass the band-pass IF filter in receive chain

Part Number: AWR6843AOP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR6843, AWR6443,

Is it possible to bypass or switch off the band-pass IF Filter in the receive chain of AWR6843 in order to get/measure the DC-offset of the I/Q channels? That filter exhibits a lower cuttof above 175 kHz, as mentioned in the data sheet "AWR6443, AWR6843 Single-Chip 60- to 64-GHz mmWave Sensor datasheet (Rev. C)", page 61, Fig 8- 4? The filter rejects the DC information requeired by my application (s. AWR6843AOP: Use AWR6843AOP in (stepped FM) CW Mode).

  • Hello

The limits of filter are as mentioned in the Device Datasheet and cannot be extended beyond that.

Would it be possible for you to set the chirp parameters such that the region of interest gets reflected in IF frequency within the allowed range?

    Thank you,

    Vaibhav

  • Hello Vaibhav,

thank you for the quick answer! My application requires so called stepped FMCW radar architecture with complex I/Q baseband. That means i have to set up the radar IC AWR6843AOP to a fixed frequency. The I/Q signal from the demodulator would have some DC values depending of the position of a single stationary target as requiered by the application. That is why i need the raw signal from the I/Q converter. Mr. Zigang Yang meant in the previous issue, that should be possible with the radar ic. My question is how?

    Best regard,

    Kamil
