IWR6843: IWR6843 for smart lamp

Part Number: IWR6843

Hi Team:

I have a design requirement for smart lamp on customer side, can you help to verify if IWR6843 meet the design target, thanks!

The basic requirement is as below:

1. Use  sensor to  grasp the movement around the lamp.  Radar  sensors are or Ultrasonic  sensor or PIR sensors can be proposed,  which one is better? pls advise

2. The motion sensor can be set and changed by setting the detection range in at least 3 stages (*).

* * The detection range of the motion sensor is centered on 2, 3 meters directly below the lamp, for example ≦1m / ≦2m / ≦3m

  • Hi,

A comparison of different technologies and their advantages are presented in https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slaa907c/slaa907c.pdf table 1. The relative advantages of each of the technologies are presented here.  Depending on the accuracy of detection different technologies can be used. The relative advantage of using radar is that it can operate in any environment and can provide accurate detection and range estimation of the objects. Further through radar point cloud we can differentiate and classify the objects as well.

    Yes, this is possible.
