AWR2243: AWR2243 cascade antenna calibration

Part Number: AWR2243

Hello, TI technicians:

I have a question about the calibration of the TI cascade board antenna.

Before the MIMO imaging operation of the AWR2243 cascade board, it is necessary to collect the phase offset calibration data in the darkroom(as shown in the figure below). Then process according to Matlab, and finally get XX_high. mat。

Now my question is:
I now need to modify the layout of the AWR2243 RF antenna,  the new antenna array also needs to be calibrated, so this process and the parameters in the process need to be changed?

If some parameters need to be modified, where can they be modified?

  • Hi, Are you changing the layout(PCB layout) or antenna layout/pattern? If layout is changing then the steps should be same and no other additional change would be needed(presuming you will be running the SIM to ensure antenna performance doesn't get impacted). If you are changing the Antenna pattern/layout then along with SIM you will have to run all the steps and respective antenna calibration needs to be done. For details on process and steps of antenna calibration please refer section 3.3 in https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/tiduen5a/tiduen5a.pdf.
