AWR2243: AWR2243 LVDS I/F

Hello TI experts,

I want to connect the AWR2243 LVDS I/F to an FPGA I am developing.

I want to understand whether the LVDS TX of the AWR2243 is LVDS TIA/EIA-644 a technical standard (not protocol) or LVDS protocol, if it is LVDS protocol which one? SubLVDS? OpenLDI? Other?

Hello Aharon,

The LVDS interface protocol is not based on a published standard , its more like proprietary. The electrical specs and the timing protocol are mentioned the in the AWr2243 datasheet : https://www.ti.com/lit/gpn/awr2243

It there a way to get the design of the LVDS protocol or spec of the protocol?

Alternately does TI has another Data Capture Card (beside DCA1000EVM) that can capture CSI2 data from the AWR2243 (instead of LVDS)?

Hello Aharon,

As mentioned above the details of the protocol are captured in the datasheet. Its a very simple protocol with clk, frame clk, and data timing.

For CSI reception you can use any of the standard processors like TDA3 etc. that have CSI2 receiver .

The LVDS electrical and timing spec is specified, but I also need description of the data protocol, I need to know how to extract the data that transferred on the LVDS signals

Regarding CSI do you have a driver that manage the data that the CSI receiver is reciving?

Hello Aharon,

The way the data is arranged on the LVDS lanes depends on your configuration. If you have enabled on ADC data, or CP/CQ data, number of lanes you have enabled etc. You can find the details of the data arrangement in the following app note: https://www.ti.com/lit/an/swra555a/swra555a.pdf

For the generic config, only ADC data, 4Rx the below image captured the data format.

Regarding CSI drivers, you can refer to the example code with our TDA processor at the following link: www.ti.com/.../PROCESSOR-SDK-TDAX
