DRV5057: DRV5057 with unipolar sensing and 0 to 100% duty cyle output

Part Number: DRV5057

Hello,

I used DRV5057 for the sensing position. It works fine,

But it gives a 50% duty cycle of its output when there is no magnet present.

My requirement is, I want to output with duty cycle 0 to 100% which linearly vary with respective magnet movement.

  • Hello Nilesh,

Thanks for considering to use Texas Instruments.  I suspect in your present configuration that you have only the south pole or only the north pole facing the device.  As such, the behavior is normal as it conforms to the behavior outlined in the figure below which is taken from the datasheet.

If you are wanting to capture more of the operating range I would re-orient the magnet such that device sees both poles.  The figure below illustrates how you would orient and move the magnet with respect to the SOT-23 version of the sensor.
