MMWAVE-SDK: Installing mmwave-sdk 02.01.00.04 does not finish

HI everyone,

I am tying to install the mmwave-sdk 02.01.00.04 on an up-to-date Ubuntu 18.04 64bit. The installer asks me what I want to install, I select everything and start the installation. The progress bar goes to 100% fairly quick and is then stuck at 100%. The "I am doing something"-indicator is rotating, but nothing happens any more, even after an hour. There is no CPU/disk/network traffic. Below is a screenshot.

Any ideas how to fix that?

Hi Fabian,

I have not heard of this before, so it's a bit challenging to provide much advice here. I found the following similar issue on SDK 3.0 from a couple years ago, could you take a look at it and let me know if it helps?

Hi Alec,

I tried restarting, checked the md5sum, even did a fresh install of the Ubuntu 18.04 and nothing helped.

Lastly, I tried it on an Ubuntu 16.04 and it worked flawlessly. Is Ubuntu 18.04 not supported? Why is Ubuntu 20.04 not supported? This is supposed to be a long term support version - I really cant see that when the last release is about three years old.

Fabian,

Your frustration here is understood. However, this is somewhat expected behavior for LTS software. We are committed to answering questions about this version and to resolve any earth-shattering issues with it, but it would be a significant investment from our side if we had to revalidate this release for every new version of Ubuntu or Windows, which would seriously delay releases of our new SW.
