HDC3020-Q1: IP67 cover

Part Number: HDC3020-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HDC3021, HDC3022

Hi team,

I can see some application guide line for placing Humidity sensors to avoid particles, contaminants such as below in snaa297 apps note.

If I chose IP67 covered version of the device, can I relax some of these guide lines?

I would like to know which case should I select null, IP67 or polyimide tape cover.

* I think polyimide cover should only protect during assembly period, so I would like to know null vs IP67.

regards,

  • Hello,

The guidelines even apply for humidity sensors that have a PTFE cover on them. This guideline ensures accurate temperature and humidity measurements if the suggested design placements are followed.

The HDC3021 has a tape cover, and is available for applications in which the board will be washed or conformally coated, and the tape is removed after these operations. The HDC3022 has a permanent filter installed over it, which is hydrophobic and can block particles down to 100nm. It is available for applications that might be exposed to dust or a condensing environment. It is also available for applications that might have some environmental airborne contaminants.
