IWR1642: Floating Point FFT implemenation available?

Hi everyone,

I'd like to use the floating point capabilites of the IWR1642's DSP core to calculate a single precision complex FFT. Is this FFT implemented and ready to use somewhere? There is nothing in the provided DSPLIB included in the mmwave-sdk. However, there seem to be implementations for other chips with the same DSP core. But they are always pre-compiled and I guess I cannot link to those, when they are intented for a different chip?

Fabian,

You have already looked at the C674x DSPLIB that is installed in c/ti during the SDK's installation? There should be several examples of complex FFT for the DSP core located in the DSPLIB package. If you are asking to see how it is used for our demos specifically, this is typically done in the "RangeProc" module. Let me know if I have misunderstood your question or if you have any further questions.

Hi Alec,

yes, there are a bunch of FFT implementations, but - correct me if I'm wrong - none of them is floating point. They are all 16 or 32 bit integer.

Hi,

Looking again, it appears most of the FFT implementations in the C67x DSPLib should support Single Precision data formats. Look for the "sp" in the module name to know that it supports Singe Precision.
