DRV5013-Q1: Conducted Susceptibility Test: Is it advisable to put Output capacitors (shown in red box) on Hall sensor output PIN?

Part Number: DRV5013-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV5013

Hi,

I wanted to implement two Output capacitors at the output pin of DR5013-Q1 as shown in the Figure attached. I am implementing those due to checking of Conducted susceptibility at the output pin of DRV5013 IC. Is it advisable to implement those capacitors at that point? What effect will it have on the rest of the circuit?

Note: CHA_HALL_1 signal is going to the connector pin

Regards,

Abhi K.

  • Abhi,

The capacitor at the output will act as an output low pass filter.  This will impact the output rise time based on the pull-up and series resistor and will have an impact on the maximum switch rate for the device.

    Thanks,

    Scott
