[FAQ] AWR6843ISK: What does ISK stand for

Part Number: AWR6843ISK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR6843, IWR6843

I know, this is probably an easy one, but I can't seem to find the answer.

I've looked over many App Notes, User Guides, and Reference Manuals, but I can't seem to find a definition for ISK, in the context of "AWR6843ISK".

The closest I have found was a mention in https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/swru546d/swru546d.pdf in section 1.2 where they reference an "Intelligent Edge Sensor", but I may be wrong.

Is it "Intelligent edge-Sensor Kit?

  • Hello

Restructuring of the original Ti.com pages has led to removal of few landing page descriptions which would have helped here.

Term ISK  comes from  Industrial Starter Kit created for  IWR6843 family of devices.   Hardware kits that work with TI's existing mmWave ecosystem while providing  modular Antenna boards specific to application needs. ISK-ODS and  AOP were follow on antenna boards that were added to this Starter kit set. Today these terms have become convention for specific antenna types offered for these devices.

AWR6843 device leverages this board ecosystem and similar antenna types for applications that require automotive grade devices.

Please check the respective Hardware pages and Toolbox pages for details:
