OPT3101: Photodiode selection for OPT3101

Hi Team,

We are developing a Time of Flight based Distance measuring module. For that, We are using OPT3101 Time of Flight IC from Texas Instruments.

We are considering two photodiodes from OSRAM as receiver for the same, SFH213FA & SFH2400FA.

Both have the same responsivity and Radiant sensitive area but Photodiode current is greater for SFH213FA than SFH2400FA.

Could you please confirm which one will be best for our application?

Hi,

By current is greater, you mean current for a given light level correct?

A big difference between these two parts if field of view. 213 has an integrated lens and thus narrow FoV whereas 2400 is wide angle.
