TMP513: Query about connecting Vin+ and Vin- Pins of temperature Sensor

Part Number: TMP513
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM83, TMP423

Dear Team,

I am planning to use your product TMP513 in my module for temperature sensing purpose.I am not going to measure voltage/power/current consumption. Some dedicated pins(Vin+ and Vin-) present in  the TMP513 chip. These unused pin can be left floating OR should be connected to GND.I can not fount these details in datasheet,

Note:I am using Configuration 3 for powering TMP513 .

Regards,

Ramesh Moorthi I.

  • Dear Ramesh -

With this device, if there are unused remote channels, you should connect them to ground, as mentioned in datasheet. GPIO should be grounded or connected to Vin (also as mentioned in datasheet)

If you are asking about the input to the ADC which is from the shunt resistor, I would have to then ask how you chose this device versus another device in the portfolio, like the LM83 or the TMP423, or if it an issue for you to connect as Configuration 3 shows, but not use the output from the device regarding the current across the load.
