  • Hello

We have sent you a few questions via private messages as that will allow us to help you effectively.

We look forward to the response there.

    Thank you,

    Vaibhav

  • Hi Shen,

I have two questions that will help us troubleshoot this.

    1. Are you flashing the bin file provided in the vital signs 68xx lab or your own bin file to the device?

    2. Have you made any changes to the configuration file and if so could you share those changes with us?

    Thank you,

    Angie Mitchell

  • Hi Angie,

Regarding the two questions you mentioned:

    1. we are flashing the device using the bin file provided in the industrial tool box.

    2. No changes have been made to the cfg file held in the gui/profile/ folder.

Addtionally, we made some tests regarding the original data sent out by the radar device, e.g. the unwrapped phase, breathwaveform and heartwaveform by reading out these data and plotting them using normal method. In comparison to the results shown in the GUI, the original phase and waveforms don't show any similar oscilatting pattern. Does the GUI do any data processing stuff in order to decode and assemble the data stream that could cause such oscillating pattern?

  • Shen,

The GUI is run with the python code included in the toolbox. However, I haven't seen this issue when I ran the demo on my end so I want to check a few things first.

Are you using the IWR6843 with the boost carrier board or in standalone?

Can you please share the positions of any switches on the board?

Please make sure you are running this using the latest version of the toolbox.

Also, if you would like you can evaluate on our newer vital signs demo which also includes people tracking: 3D People Counting With Vital Signs

    Thank you,

    Angie

  • Hi Angie,

I am using the IWR6843AOP in standalone mode without the icboost board. The binary file is the one included in the toolbox 4.7.0 which should be the latest since no updates are ever made to vital signs module after 4.6.0 according to some official decalaration.

And yeah I see there is a integrated module containing both people counting and vital signs, but its source code is not available in the toolbox, so not that helpful to me. Anyway thx.

    Regards

    Shen

  • Hi Shen,

For the 68xx Vital Signs demo the ICboost board is required. If you run this demo with the ICboost board and continue to see this issue please let me know.

While the source code is not available for the people counting with vital signs yet, the binary is available to be flashed and run using the people counting GUI. This is able to run in standalone mode with just the IWR6843AOP. If you have questions about the source code you can contact your local TI sales representative.

    Thank you,

    Angie Mitchell
