TMP117EVM: Eval Board Temperature Range

The TMP117 operating temperature is specified as -55C to 150C.

What temperatures can the EVM board be used at? Do I need to break off the sensor tip and add an extension above/below a certain temp?

I would want to use the TMP117EVM between -40C and 105C.

    Hi Michael,

    Thank you for your question.

    The TMP117EVM board is rated for operation between -40°C to +85°C, due to on-board components such as the MSP430.

    Like you mentioned, the perforated break-out portion of the EVM can be used to separate the TMP117 device from the board. This portion can then be wired to measure temperature remotely while also protecting the board components from high temps and allowing the use of the MSP430 and GUI to interact with and configure the device.
