DRV5056-Q1: Alternate part

Part Number: DRV5056-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMAG5170
Hi Team,
Our customer designing a device used to measure the distance between the sensor and a DC magnet and they need to know for sure the relation between the magnetic field and the sensor response.
They previously used DRV5056-Q1 for this application but found that the device sensitivity has a large uncertainty, and varies greatly with temperature and power, in addition to the low stability of "zero".
In regard to this, they are requesting an alternative with less variability between sensors, or that at least each individual sensor has its own curve(s).
The main specifications that have to be similar to DRV5056-Q1's such as:
  • at least 20mT range on one direction
  • 120 mV/mT sensitivity or higher
  • 3.3V power supply
  • Response to south magnetic pole
  • Similar dimensions (may be slightly larger)

Can you help with this inquiry?

Regards,

Marvin

  • Marvin,

From our current portfolio, our device with better sensitivity matching would be TMAG5170.

TMAG5170 communicates over SPI at 3.3V and can be programmed to detect any component of the magnetic field (X,Y, and Z axes).  The minimum programmable range of TMAG5170A1 is +/- 25mT.  The sensitivity error is specified as shown here:

This device is offered in an 8 pin DGK package.

    Thanks,

    Scott
