Hi TI team,

This is regarding TMP102AIDRLR.

Our customer has some questions that would like to seek further clarification from TI. Appreciated your response on this. Thanks..
 
1) The maximum temperature variation based on Figure 5 is around +/-0.4°C (at operating range of 125°C). Please clarify under what conditions will the temperature reach more than +/-0.5 °C (or max +/- 2°C)
2) Does TI consider temperature deviation of between 0.6°C - 2°C acceptable?
3) Temperature distribution in Figure 6 does not reflect any units exceeding 0.4°C. Is there a bigger sample size available to reflect the percentage of data points than could fall between 0.6°C - 2°C.

    The TMP102 is guaranteed to operate within the maximum temperature error specified in Section 6.5 of the datasheet. Figure 5 represents typical observed device performance, which is specified as ±0.5 °C and ±1 °C in Section 6.5. 

    Any temperature deviations within the bounds specified in Section 6.5 are considered acceptable. However, in addition to Figure 6 we are not able to provide alternate datasets.

    Just would like to further clarify, based on the typical performance does the ±1 °C applicable to both test conditions –25°C to 85°C and –40°C to 125°C ?

    The typical temperature error of ±1°C applies to the range –40°C to 125°C. For the range of –25°C to 85°C the typical error is specified as ±0.5°C.
