AWR1843BOOST: Does USRR+MRR mode have all the benefits of USRR and MRR mode? What is the disadvantage comparing with only USRR mode or MRR mode?

Expert 2050 points

Part Number: AWR1843BOOST

In automotive lab demo mrr. We can configure the device to support USRR mode, MRR mode, or both modes.

In case of configuring both USRR+MRR mode, will the device have all the benefits of USRR and MRR mode? or the device have part of benefits of USRR mode and part of benefits of MRR mode?

What are the differences between USRR+MRR mode and USRR mode?

What are the differences between USRR+MRR mode and MRR mode?

Thanks

  • Hi Lei,

In USRR+MRR mode, the USRR and MRR frames are transmitted in an alternating manner. The other two modes transmit MRR only, or USRR only frames. This diagram is taken from the developer's guide of the lab:

Since MRR+USRR mode entails using the device in both modes in an alternating manner, the configuration benefits from features of both individual modes. The only disadvantage in this alternation would be that the frame periodicity is lower as opposed to MRR only or USRR only modes.
