FDC2112-Q1: Vehicle capacitive touch sensor inquiry

This can be accomplished with the FDC2212-Q1 by plating the ABS but it would require some testing to determine the best thickness for it to work based on the sensor size/shape. 

Alternatively, I would recommend considering an inductive touch button for this application. Inductive touch works based on the force of the press so it works well with gloves or dirty on the touch surface. Additionally, using a device like the LDC3114-Q1, you can use the digital outputs instead of processing the data. When working with something like ABS, you can put a metal film on the inside of the surface so that it interacts with the inductive sensor.
