DRV5053: Looking for alternative parts

Genius 13959 points
Part Number: DRV5053
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV5055

Hi Experts,

Good day. Can you please help us find better alternative for DRV5053VAQDBZR?

They need a replacement with:

  • needs -90mV/mT or +90 if we must or better.
  • has 3v3 rail (don't need the huge voltage rating provided by the DRV5053)

I could see limited parts of this type and not sure if ratiometric type would still be fit. I have filtered list below (including automotive parts)

Can you also tell us which OPN is suited?

Thank you!

Regards,
Archie A.

  • Archie,

Thanks for reaching out.  For an analog output device, I would recommend using the DRV5055A1, ,which has a sensitivity of 100 mV/mT.  This device has a lower input referred noise than DRV5053, and operates from Vcc = 3V - 5.5V.

DRV5055 is ratiometric, meaning that the sensitivity will scale with variations in Vcc.  This means that with respect to Vcc, the output voltage would remain a constant percent of full scale with constant input magnetic field.  This is useful when using Vcc as the reference voltage for the sampling ADC.  The end result is that the ADC output code will be more reliable as Vcc fluctuates.  This is particularly helpful in battery operated applications.  Additionally, the linear input range is unchanged whether using 3.3 V or 5 V for the supply.

    Thanks,

    Scott
