How is QSPI EDMA different from EDMA?

I am currently successfully configuring EDMA from flash to DSS_L3 and it works fine - however, would using QSPI_edmaChannelConfig() make the data transfer from flash to DSS L3 any faster?

What is the use case for QSPI_edmaChannelConfig()?

Hi Anand,

Thanks for your patience. By looking at the functions of qspi_edma.c, it is same as EDMA channel config and they are using same EDMA channels here for data transfer. So ideally it should not make the data transfer from flash to DSS_L3 faster.

QSPI_edmaChannelConfig() using the same structs of EDMA and this is used for DMA transfer using for QSPI purpose in general and it also configures the channels for DMA transfer similar to EDMA.

One another option you could consider for fast transfer is QDMA (but I am not sure if it would allow data transfer from flash) mentioned in user guide: https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sprugs5b/sprugs5b.pdf (the section 2.4.3) explains how EDMA/QDMA differ.
